Role models to follow in life

“She was a little girl back then and had no idea what the future had prepared for her. She had no idea what she wanted to achieve in her life, not yet. This, she will discover during her journey. The universe she lived in was very small, so her power of imagination was also limited. During her journey, the more she had discovered the bigger her dreams and her goals become.

When you are a little kid you will take, first of all, your parents as a reference. If your parents have a good relationship, they love each other and you live in a house filled with love, you will tend to wish also the same for yourself in your personal life.

If you come from a family where the parents separated, and you do not have a good reference, problems will start to appear, sooner or later. She noticed issues with herself and how her past caused issues with the people she met on her journey, at different stages of her life.

If you come from a family where parents used to argue a lot, and went even further, you will tend to use this as an example as of what you should not have, what you should not accept in your life. This will be something that, even if you badly wish to forget, you will still use it as a reference of how a man should treat a woman, and the other way around.

As mentioned before, the parents will be a reference for you, positively or negatively, and this will form you as the person you want to be or as the person you do not want to be. It will define the people you wish to have by your side and the people you decide you do not want to have as being part of your life, because they bring you too many memories of a past that still makes you shiver just with the thought of it. 

A sister, her love, her behavior, her own family when she has one, will also help you to have a reference of how a family should be. If you come from a broken family, they will be an example of how a family should look like, how the children should be raised, how they should stand behind each other and support each other no matter what, how love and affection are offered without waiting for nothing in exchange.

You will see how a person is able to build something completely different from what she had experienced in her childhood, how things are possible, and seeing this you will see that everything is possible. You will see that everything depends on you to change and how you can change the history and not allow it to happen again, how you can avoid the past to come and hunt you when you have the opportunity to do things differently.

You will see a sister struggling to achieve something different, you will see a sister able to achieve her dreams and allow herself to dream even further than that. You will also see a sister that accepted her past and is eager to build a different future.

This sister or these sisters will be a reference of what you want and what you do not want in your life. Without wanting to, we compare the things that are happening in our lives and the closest referent is always our family, for better and for worse.

A brother, his brotherly love, his protection towards you and towards his own family, his struggle to achieve something and to provide enough for his family, his struggle to forget the past and move on, his way of behaving with his partner, it will also be helping you to have a reference of how a family should be, of how a man should behave with a woman.

You will admire the courage he has. You will admire his character, you will admire the positivity he has in the most unpleasant situations and you will admire his willingness to love despite of all the barriers that life brings us during the journey.

You will see a person who does not want to give up and will not give up, you will see a person who is always there for the people who need him the most and is willing to help anyone on his way despite everything that happened in his past. He appreciates that he is still there and has a chance to build a better future for himself and for the people he cares for.

This brother or brothers will also be setting an example in your life and it is only in your hands to decide what you want to take and apply in your life. Do you want to take the things that are useful, or you want to take the things that are not?”

I am here right now, in a crowdy coffee, listening to the rain falling. It’s cold outside but is not cold in my heart. I feel more than blessed with the family I have. I realized, from a very short time, that I come from an amazing family.

I mentioned a short period of time because when you are young when you are a kid, you do not stop to think about these things, how important a family is, but once you are far away from the people who saw you become an adult and is harder and harder to go to them and give them a hug, is then when you realize how much you miss them and how important they were and how important they are in your life.

Every person, starting with the parents and ending with the friends and even the strangers that you may see walking down the street, mold you into the person you are today.

Everyone can be used as a role model for the person you want, or you do not want to be. They can all teach you who you want to have or not have by your side. All you need to do is observe and appreciate the little details – they can teach you more than you could ever imagine.
